As we begin to transform our life, as we start to create something new for ourselves and our life, we eventually experience the process or journey as a struggle. The struggle appears when we start to doubt ourselves and the project that we are going about creating. The struggle happens when we start to lose the motivation and drive that first started the transformation of self.
The struggle also gives us the opportunity to practice staying enrolled in the creation and not giving up. As we do the work there will be times when the struggle will be so intense that the tendency is to just give up, making up a story that the project is too hard or that I will eventually fail so why do it. How we deal with the struggle once it appears is vital to continuing to stay in the process of transforming your life.
I believe that in the beginning the struggle is inevitable. It will happen. It is not a matter of if but when. Sometimes the struggle will happen when you least expect it. What I have found is that one of the best ways to deal with the struggle is to center oneself, to ground yourself in the moment. From the moment, the Now, from our being there fully, we gain power. Practicing meditation or some other form of relaxation technique designed to center oneself is so important if not vital to staying in the game of life, of managing the roller coaster ride of life.
